Historic sites
In terms of history, the city of Agde is 2600 years old. It tells the story of its past as you stroll through the narrow streets of the old town and its monuments of yesteryear: the Ephebe Museum, the fortified Romanesque cathedral, etc. A good look into the past that will delight young and old alike.
Cruise on the Canal du Midi
Agde is crossed by the famous Canal du Midi, which allows the town to take advantage of a booming river tourism. Departing from the port of Grau d'Agde, you can embark on a nice relaxing cruise along the canal and enjoy the picturesque streets from a different angle.
And other landscapes...
30 km away, you will find Sète, the third city of the Herault region.
The cultural heritage of Sète, the port of Sète, the artists' workshops, the tielles, the beaches and the festivals of Sète are a must if you have time after visiting Cap d'Agde.
Continuing on, you can visit Montpellier, Pézenas, the Salagou lake, the Hérault gorges, the village of Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert to get a glimpse of one thing: you'll have to come back to the region during your next holidays!
